Royal Wedding inspired....

Hello! In honor of today's Royal Wedding, I have a couple of cards to share using the princess4life set from The Stamps Of Life.  The first card uses the larger solid crown from this set and also some stamps from dictionary4me.  I used some Rich Razzleberry ink and paper, and sponged some lighter pink on the dictionary overlay.  The black alpha letters which spell "queen" are from K&Company.

The second card uses only stamps from the princess4life set.I glittered the heart on the princess "wand" and colored the rest with markers.  The white is embossed with divine swirls cuttlebug folder and the card base is pretty in pink by SU.  I tied some pink burlap string around the top from May Arts.

So what did you think about the Royal Wedding?  I missed parts of it because I worked at the hospital last night, but caught bits and pieces as most of my patients were tuned in to it!  I thought it was so cute when Kate came out onto the balcony for "the kiss" and said "oh, wow"!  I can't imagine being in the spotlight in front of ALL of those people.  Their kiss was a little lame (IMO), but I guess it was tasteful and what to be expected from the royal couple!  I thought Queen Elizabeth's bright yellow suit was a stitch! How cute is she?

Just some of my thoughts on the 68 million dollar spectacle.  Let me hear yours!

Thanks for stopping by! I am off to try to sleep...

Princess4Life....

Hello!  Today I have a card using a new release from The Stamps Of Life called, princess4life.  So cute for the girly girls in your life.  This card will be perfect for one of my sweet nieces.  I used patterned paper from My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose to piece the crown.  I gathered some ivory eyelet at the bottom and added some vintage buttons.  Really like how this turned out!  The card base is Classic Flax cardstock from Mark's Finest Papers. I love using this cardstock instead of plain ivory or cream.  It has very subtle flecks of brown and just adds a lot of depth to your project and cards.

FWF-Happy Bird-Day!

Hello! Happy Friday!  Today I have a card using stamps from some old store kits.  The bird houses and sentiment are from the kit, Naturally You and the bird is from the kit Life is Fabulous.  I used patterned paper from Lilly Bee Designs called This & That.

I also made this card for this month's Unity challenge, which is to incorporate a  bird or birds onto your project.  It was hard to choose which bird stamps to use, but I decided that these little bird houses were quite neglected! LOL!

Happy Birthday To My Sweet Boy Will.....

I can't believe my oldest boy is 10 today!!!! He came into our lives 5 weeks early.  He just couldn't wait to meet us and see the world!  This is reflective of his personality today.  He is full of energy, eager to see and learn new things and has great compassion for others.
I remember when I brought him home from the hospital he was such a little peanut.  He weighed just under 5 pounds, but they let me bring him  home anyway because I was a nurse.  I had to feed him with a little medicine cup because he didn't have a sucking reflex yet.
Today he is TALL and skinny and all boy!  We will celebrate the day with a party at Laser Web and play laser tag with family and friends.  When he was little, I always made him the fancy Wilton cakes with all of the little icing stars.  For the past couple of years he has just wanted a regular cake, but this year he asked if I could make two cakes...one in the shape of a football and one in the shape of a baseball.  ABSOLUTELY!
I see him starting to change so much.  He is not a little boy and wants to do "big boy" things, but still finds comfort in some of the "little boy" stuff too.
Below you will find the card I made him for his 10th birthday.  After I made it, I thought maybe it was too babyish for a 10 year old.  Now I am thinking it is just right.  I probably won't be able to make him a card like this ever again.  He will be in Middle School next year, and I am sure this card wouldn't fly.  Not "cool" enough, but for now it is just right for my boy.
I used the new release, cars2drive from The Stamps Of Life for this card, along with some Crate Paper, burlap string, and a vintage button.

This card is for this week's Wee Memories challenge-something adorable.  I think this fits as adorable for a boy, don't you?

My Aunt's VW Bug....

Hi there!  I made this card using the new release from The Stamps Of Life, Cars2drive.  The moment I saw the VW Bug image, I knew I wanted to paper piece it in some yellow paper and make a card for my aunt.  Her birthday is not until July, but I will save it for her.
When I was a little girl, my aunt drove a bright yellow bug.  I remember how much I loved that car and how cool I thought it was as a child.  Being one of three sisters, my parents had a woody station wagon.  I was in awe that she had a tiny little car much less a bright yellow one!
I pieced the car with DP from Lily Bee.  I used some silver smooch to paint the fenders and bumper, and added some silver half pearls to the center of the hub caps.

Hello! Happy H{ippity} Hop!  Today I have a girly girl card, using papers from Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe collection.  I also layered some doilies and a bloomer.  I weaved some pink burlap string through my circle border punch and added a vintage button on top.  It's a busy card, but I like how it turned out!
I used the "i love you " sentiment from the ippity set, What you doin'.  One of my favorites!

A Joker and a Penguin, but no Batman to be found....

Hello! We had a rainy day on Saturday, so we did a lot of playing indoors.  My twins, Luke and Max, have HUGE imaginations.  It is so funny to watch them play together.  They act out scenes from movies and make up there own, too.  Recently, they have been into Batman.  Of course, they like to be the villains, and not Batman and Robin.
We have a huge bin of "dress up" clothes, but unfortunately, no villain costumes, so they decided to make their own.  Luke is Joker and Max is Penguin.  I busted a gut laughing at them and had to snap some photos!  Luke drew and colored a Joker suit and taped it to his clothes along with his joker smile!
Max wanted to be Penguin so he got out a black hat, scarf and gloves.  He also gathered a few of the penguin stuffed animals we own, but they are on the floor and not in the photos.
Sorry no card for now, but these photos were too funny not share!

FWF-Now and Always...

Hello! Today I have a card using the ippity set, Now and Always.  I used the leafy vine and sentiment from this set.  I used nesties to make my scallop flower and added a vintage button in the middle.  I sprayed some of my flower layers with smooch.  I definitely need to pull out my smooch spritz more often.  One of the many things I forget to use! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

Take A Break!

Hello! Today's card uses the new release from The Stamps Of Life, Houses4us.  The tree trunk and foilage on the tree are separate stamps, so it makes it great for paper piecing, which is what I did! I used patterned paper from Crate Paper's Emma collection.  I popped the foilage with pop dots.  I framed the image with more of the same woodgrain patterned paper along with a strip across the bottom.  I used some green baker's twine from The Twinery to tie it all together!
I free hand cut a hammock out of dark brown cardstock and then used some ivory burlap string to make it look like it is tied to the tree trunks.
The sentiment is from TSOL set, coffee4two.

Hello Hattie...

Ink:  Certainly Celery, Blue Bayou, Baja Breeze; Distress ink in Old paper and Walnut Stain
Accessories:  Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alpha stickers; May Arts brown burlap string; brown marker, celery twill ribbon
Hello!  Today I have a card using paper from Stella and Rose by My Mind's Eye! I am in love with everything in this collection!  The floral stamp is also from this collection.  I used various blue and green inks on the stamp.  I used a pencil eraser to dab the different colors where I wanted them.  I did some faux stitching around the edge of the patterned paper using a paper piercer and a brown marker.
The sentiment was created using Csomo Cricket Tiny Type stickers.  I distressed the edges of all of the paper and inked the edges with distress inks.
You will find links to all of the products used under the photo.  All products except the ribbon and inks, are available from Paper Maniac.  You definitely want to check out the great sales going on and all of the new product in the store!

Welcome!

Hi, there!  Today I have a card using the new release, Houses4us set from The Stamps Of Life.  I stamped the row of houses repeatedly on white cardstock, and then cut out around the tops of them.  I used patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely collection toward the bottom.  I stamped my sentiment in black on white cardstock and added a red vintage button with some black burlap string from May Arts.  This is a fairly quick and easy card to make.  Even the cutting doesn't take that long!

Thinking of You Rose....

Hello! Today I have a card I made for the featured stamper challenge over on SCS.  Today's featured stamper is Irene (DandI93).  She has a wonderful gallery, and I chose THIS card as my inspiration.

I used stamps from The Stamps Of Life set, flowers2share.  I paper pieced the vase and flower bud using patterned paper from My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose, Hazel collection.  The ledger paper in the background is from this collection too.  I used a MS border punch along the bottom.  My card base is baja breeze.

The Stamps Of Life April Release: Houses4us!

Hello!  This is my second post of the day so scroll down for more!  Today is the first of April, so that means a brand new release from The Stamps Of Life!  I am in love with this set.  The house images are so perfect for paper piecing.  I used patterned papers from My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose Hattie collection.  I used distress inks in Walnut Stain and Old Paper on all of the papers to give it a primitive look.  I stamped my sentiment using a masking technique so that I could get each individual word and then cut them out.  I added a vintage button with a burlap bow to the bottom corner.
Here is another card using stamps from this set:
I used paper from Crate Paper's Emma collection to piece this house.  I also stamped the picket fence several times on white cardstock and then cut and pieced it together to fit across the card.  I used the birds and swirls cuttlebug folder for the background and added some burlap string and a button to the bottom.

Make sure you check out this fabulous set!  I will have a couple more cards in the days to come with this one.  You can purchase this set even if you are not a club member!  Check here for all of the deets

FWF-The Right Accessories....

Hello! Happy Friday!  Today I have a fun card using Cosmo Cricket's Upcycle patterned paper.  Love the colors and the purses seemed to go perfectly with this accessories sentiment from the To The Moon & Back KOTM.  I used an EK success punch for the circle border and then wove my baker's twine through it and tied it in a double bow. The baker's twine is from The Twinery. I distressed all of the edges of the paper with distress inks.

Thanks for stopping by today!
